Pls help...Can Photoshop make true vector?

I have Photoshop, and am about to buy Adobe Illustrator , but If I can make true vector in phoshop, than I do not want get Illustrator.



does anyone use Illustrator? Did anyone use Photoshop to make vector?

I use Illustrator quite a bit. It's vastly superior to Photoshop if you want to do anything complex with vector graphics. It's also better for working with text.



You can create vector art in Photoshop, but its capabilities are sort of limited; you get all of the basic drawing tools, but none of the higher-level stuff. For example, you can easily draw paths and save them, but you couldn't take two pre-existing paths and merge them into one path by a method of your choice. And you can't produce finished vector art (paths that have line weights, fills, etc.) without elaborate trickery of one kind or another. If you want to do vector illustration, Illustrator is really a must.
