im editing an image, and whenever I use the lasso tool to select an area, and then do "control, copy" I get a message telling me there was an error: the selected area was empty. Frustrating!!!! Im running photoshop cs2 on mac osx 10.4.9, any suggestions?

Are you sure you're selecting on the correct layer?
That happened to me for a while, then I discovered I was trying to copy from a layer that had nothing on it!

You are most likely working on the wrong layer. Make sure the layer that has the info you are coping is selected in the layer manager.
